Multi-instrumentalist and touring member of Fear of Men Helen Ganya Brown (aka Dog In The Snow) has built up a brilliant reputation for her atmospheric electronic-leaning dream pop over the last few years. Her latest single 'Child' is her boldest outing to date. It's a sinister synth-ridden affair which threatens to wipe out mankind entirely. Brown explains, "I was thinking of the idea of protest in the 21st century, sometimes it seems like congregating en masse still makes one feel powerless...So I thought (pretty sarcastically) what if every woman threatened to never have a child ever again? It’s my tongue-in-cheek and desperate attempt at blackmailing humanity for a sustainable future, and regaining ownership of one’s body and choices, whilst trying to come to terms with the mixed expectations of women’s roles in society." The accompanying video is a brilliantly eerie outpouring of Brown's frustration, which features some terrifying vegetable cutting, angry bread kneading and disturbing scene's of Brown's head on a chopping block. -HLMX
